Pregnancy & Birth Doula
Being your knowledgeable friend and companion during pregnancy, labour and birth comes with great privilege. The mothers made and babies born on my watch all remain in my heart forever. I spend most of your pregnancy preparing you for the changes that can occur in your body, teaching you about labour and birth and preparing you for life with a newborn baby. But I can also be there to facilitate the best support from your own partner or family members; helping them to help you..
Postpartum Doula
Adjusting to life with a new baby or babies can benefit from a helping pair of hands from a friendly face. Breastfeeding is usually the most quoted reason for people hiring me as a postpartum doula, but I attend to anything you need from me.
Birth Pool Hire
You can hire a birth pool from me for your birth, whether I am your Doula or not. Supplies are limited, so please ensure you book early for the 4 weeks surrounding your expected birth time. The pool hire comes with delivery by me (locally) and a demonstration of how to use it all. There are additional disposable one-use items that I will direct you to online to go with your pool.
Birth Planning Consultations
This is the most common service taken-up by families preparing for birth. Booked for a 2-hour session dedicated to finding out what your birth preferences are... even if you do not know what they are yet.
Birth History Reflection
Discussing your previous experiences with birth, whether previous pregnancies of your own, or your own actual birth, is usually a conversation reserved for spaces that safely respect your feelings and vulnerabilities.
Chaperone
This service is where I accompany you and your partner, or you alone, to any appointments that you have regarding your childbearing journey. These can be just for moral support, for more confidence and someone bearing witness to any conversations had.
Breastfeeding / Chestfeeding Support
Across Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire you can find breastfeeding peer support groups hosted by Milk Mentors.
Northamptonshire Birth Voices
This is a Facebook group for pregnant women and birthing families, and birthworkers serving the local areas. A space for you to ask questions; to support other parents; to share feedback for care providers including independent midwives, NHS midwives, doulas and other Healthcare Professionals.
This space is for ALL pregnancy, birth and postnatal experiences, both positive and negative.
Birthworkers Collective Support for Palestine
Being a member of this charitable collective is very important if you are a birthworker of any kind that wishes to support women, children and families suffering the genocide in Gaza and Palestine. This will be the space where I will link our current campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness and some funds for families in need. Our recent fundraiser ended in July 2024 after raising thousands of pounds for infant feeding support services in Gaza and a nominated family’s GoFundMe account.
